Introduction

Let your students learn on an Urban journey based school camp experience where they will travel around Melbourne city by foot, tram, bus, bicycle, canoe and underground subway train. This tailored school camp program is suitable for all year levels. Our team will work with you to tailor the camp program and experience to your students needs and abilities. Our minimum group size is 25 students and our maximum group size is 180. Team sizes vary depending on your schools aims and objectives however they are generally somewhere between 16 - 25 students per team. Our accommodation varies from Hardtop Accommodation, Hotel Accommodation, Group Residence Accommdation and Camping under canvas/tents too! Depending on the level of challenge that you deem suitable for your year level or cohort, our Melbourne camp program can be adjusted both in the planning stages and then with ultimate flexibility in the field. Allow your students to take part in this incredible Urban leadership program as your students take on key leadership roles and responsibilities and solve challenging tasks, all whilst having fun and under the guidance and support of our professional facilitators.

Aims & Objectives (Educational Outcomes)

All of our programs can be linked to your school’s curriculum, with ease and simplicity. Our teaching staff handle all the administration and paperwork allowing you to concentrate on your full time job.

Students will gain a deeper understanding of the City, with clear scope and sequenced educational outcomes such as:

  • Introduction to the Melbourne and Regional Victoria Public Transport Network
  • Understanding of Geographical landscapes and landforms and human impact
  • Introduction to Smart City thinking and digital urban technologies
  • Waterway appreciation through water based experiences in parks and recreational areas
  • Nature appreciation and protection through outdoor recreation
  • Time management through student-led decision making

Highly suitable for regional Victorian schools, this program gives students a team challenge and purpose as to why they are exploring Melbourne city, where students will be taking notes as they wander the streets of Melbourne in preparation for a Major Mock-Tourism submission to Visit Victoria.

Students will have the opportunity to visit the iconic Melbourne tourism spots as well as educational centres such as Scienceworks and the Melbourne Museum. Using their student myki cards, they will navigate their way through Melbourne city to locations set in the itinerary, solving problems, learning about the City and its history as well as identifying potential tourism challenges for the Major Tourism event.
